Inspired Results
Charlie’s Raw Treats offers delectable raw goodies. And owner Charlie Lagoa even created a sweet design to market her business online.
Caryn showed Charlie how changing a few ingredients on the site would give her a better recipe for success. The most important insight was to make the home page as appealing as the treats by immediately showing visitors the delights in store. That meant moving the dessert photos and the testimonial top center.
Other changes to improve the visitor experience and build customer loyalty included making the copy more client-focused, improving the readability of the navigation buttons, tweaking the logo, reducing the font size and adjusting the spacing. Caryn also suggested changes to the companion blog to drive more traffic to the treats site.
Celebrating Success
As someone who has recently started up a business, I am fresh to learning about marketing, I realize that a Web site that looks design snazzy may end up being quite [ineffective] from a customer and sales perspective.
Caryn showed me how small changes to the Web site would make a significant impact on the way that my website looks and on the overall visitor experience. She gave me some simple solutions that I could easily implement for maximum results. The changes that Caryn recommended were more than just design. She really understands what drives sales.
Caryn suggested making the home page much more appealing thus I have moved the dessert photos and the testimonial to the top center. These changes to the opening have made a huge difference to the appeal of the Web site. Caryn has an eye for detail, and her common sense approach really went down a treat!
In addition to the design ideas, Caryn also suggested that I shift the language used in my copy from talking about “I” and “my” to “you” and ”your.” Shifting perspective to describing the benefits that the customer will gain from my product has definitely improved the visitor experience. Whilst I shy away from a heavy sales approach, Caryn suggested ideas that I could implement that would drive sales, but that were subtle enough for me to feel confident about using them.
Having implemented Caryn’s suggestions, my Web site has gone from being something that looks very home-spun to something that looks quite professional, and this has translated into a lot of new interest in my products and consequently into a stream of new orders. Thank you Caryn!
