Stephani McGirr was so pleased with the logo and Web design work for Nourishing Journey that she requested a design for her second business, Growing Little Sprouts. This venture helps parents who already enjoy raw food to make this way of eating fun and easy for the whole family.
Both logos drew from custom art that Stephani commissioned from an artist. Because logos must work at a small size, in black and white, and under a variety of printing conditions, the art was too complex to use directly. Caryn simplified the drawing and worked within its color palette to deliver a design that would be pleasing on its own and when shown with the art on the blog site.
Originally Stephani hoped to incorporate a font she had been using into any new logos. But Caryn explained that the playful, textured font might not work well for Nourishing Journey. That site serves parents with children who have autism spectrum conditions. It invites them to try a modified diet and lifestyle changes as a path toward healing. Because the site asks people to do something that may be very new for them to support their child’s health, Caryn recommended fonts that would convey a solid, trustworthy image.
To create the link to between the two businesses, both share one font and one color. But the Growing Little Sprouts logo stands on its own to appeal to parents who want to give their kids the healthiest possible start with raw food.
I couldn’t be more pleased with the logo she developed – it’s fantastic!
